Education
ISSUE SUMMARY:
We’re failing our kids, and it’s hurting their future and our economy. Too many graduates from America’s high schools are entering the workforce unprepared for 21st century jobs. By 2031, 72% of all jobs in the economy will require post-secondary education and training beyond high school. Even now, employers are struggling to find qualified candidates for vital positions.
Few of the business leaders participating in our briefings are experts on education policy, but most of them are experts on the knowledge, skills, and traits young workers need to succeed. We help these leaders work with policy experts on a range of issues, including school choice, workforce development, school-year internships, and how to better measure the impact of federal support for local schools.
